Hi there - I'm Kaluwa, teacrafter and founder of the ClariTea BouTeaque.
When I was 30 years old, I lost my father.
I lost my father from a medical mistake.
Stating that sucked doesn’t even begin to cover it. At the time, I was a new mother, and self-preservation suddenly became the priority for me. I didn’t want to face missing such a big chunk of my baby’s life one day.
While I appreciated Western medicine’s astounding accomplishments, I realized it wasn’t my answer for preventative healthcare. I was already interested in wellness, but suddenly it got real. I learned about food and herbs as medicine and the role of emotions affecting your physical health. This led me to the amazing world of alternative medicines – Integrative Nutrition, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, herbalism, movement therapy, meditation, and more.
While I was training with an herbalist/acupuncturist in traditional Chinese medicine, I learned that tea is the absolute best way to benefit from herbs. However, I noticed that no one chose the herbs. Instead, they chose acupuncture or tea pills. Then I figured out why. While many Chinese herbs have amazing properties, they can be tough on the palate – blah!
It occurred to me that there are herbs that can be blended to both positively impact your health and indulge your senses. That was the beginning of the ClariTea BouTeaque.
My father was the type of person that would give you the shirt off his back, truly. So, now I feel like I am continuing to pay it forward by sharing the good that managed to come from his untimely passing.
By sharing my knowledge, I hope to help you live a life of good health and joy, which everyone deserves.
